In Lightroom, the Spray Can tool (Painter tool) is a quick way to apply a favorite preset or ratings and labels to thumbnails of images. While I don't find it very useful for applying ratings and labels, since there are already shortcuts for those, it is handy for quickly zapping an image with a basic "Mid bump" preset. Be sure you have created or loaded the presets in Develop mode first. We have ready made presets for almost any type of adjustment available on our web store: KubotaImageTools.com
- While in Library mode [G], click on the spray can at the bottom of your screen.
- When you click, you'll see the other options. The can is now "loaded" in your hot little hand, so when you click on an image or images, the setting will be applied.
- Click on the pop-up menu next to Paint: to choose "settings". This will allow you to apply a preset when you paint.
- Choose the preset from the list pop-up
I use Mid bump 2 as a general use lightening. Now just click on your image! To drop the spray can, either click back on the circle where you got it or hit your ESC key.
HOT TIP: Once you have the settings and preset you want selected, you can access the spray can at any time while in Library mode by holding the CMD-OPT keys (CTRL-ALT on PC) and then just clicking on an image(s).
